Hey guys did any of you major in History while in college? I graduated a year and a half ago and I am not sure what to do with it. Honestly, I love history but I regret getting my degree in it. It does not seem to be very job condusive at all. Does anyone have any suggestions?

all the history majors i know went to graduate school... if you don't mind accruing more debt that somesthing to do! probably if you really want to use it you'll have to do that and maybe pursue teaching or something.... if not that, have you tried museums? i think thats what one of my friends was planning on doing with his medieval studies major... curate or something. not sure if they want graduate degree for that or not...

Yeah I've thought about museums and stuff. Only thing is, those jobs are hard to find and the pay isn't all that great. Of course, I care more about doing something I like than the money. I mean what's the point of making loads of money if you can only enjoy yourself on the weekends? I don't want to spend my life hating 5 days out of every week. But still, I want to be find a job in the first place!
I just met with an archivists at the college I attended and asked him about a career in his field. He said there a good chance that I will have to move across the country to find work, and that I will make about as much money as an assistant manager of a fast food restaurant. So I thought to myself, "Mark that off the list!" It's a bit discouraging trying to figure out what I am supposed to do.
