All the usual questions; what are your favourites?, what are you playing now?, what do you think of them? etc. etc.
Favourites (copied from the list I posted on the old forum):
Quote:
All the Metroid games Astro Boy: Omega Factor (still unf., due to it being nightmarishly difficult). Breath of Fire 2 Chrono Trigger Fire Emblem (unf.) Goldeneye Gran Turismo (1 & 2) God of War (1 & 2) Ico Most of the Final Fantasy games (the series nose-dived after #VII, IMO). Most of the Mario platform & RPG titles (except maybe #2 and Sunshine). Perfect Dark Power Stone Phantasy Star Online Rez Secret of Mana Super Mario Kart Syndicate Wars Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Shenmue (1 & 2) Shadow of the Colossus The Legend of Zelda games (except #2, and maybe Majora's Mask) The Fantastic Adventures of Dizzy Vagrant Story
I'll let you know what I think of them once I've completed them.

I'm waaaaaaaaay behind the times. I don't play games at the moment because it's too hard to find games I like that are compatible with both a PowerPC processor and OSX Leopard. But on past computers I've enjoyed:
Morrowind (RPG) Betrayal at Krondor (old RPG based on Raymond E. Feist books) Heroes of Might and Magic II HOMM III (probably my favourite game ever, a good fusion of RPG and strategy; shame about the awful writing) Civilization II
And the usual simple arcade games like Tetris and Frozen Bubble

A friend of mine has dedicated the last couple of weeks to downloading tons of mods for Oblivion, trying to get it juuust right. He's still not satisfied with it though.

I want to try the Baldur's Gate games someday, if I buy an old computer that will run them (or a new one with the right architecture to emulate an old computer that can run them). Tried Neverwinter Nights once, after Morrowind, but I found it hard to get into. The TES series is very immersive, and also easy to get the hang of, whereas NwN felt like trying to learn Warhammer or something. Fun for INT*s, but not my thing

Phantasy Star Online and Rez? Sir, I do approve!
Uni has kept me busy, so the only games I've played recently are Left 4 Dead (On the 360 and PC) and Phantasy Star Portable. Now Uni is almost over I want to catch up on some games that have new downloadable content, like Fable 2 and Fallout 3. I've started getting into some XNA community games on the 360 though, but I really want to play more RPG's with mod tools on the PC so I can learn to make my own over the summer. Any recommendations there?
I'm a old school Sega nerd by trade, so most of my favourite games are Sega games ^^

I used to collect abandonware, well at least I know where I'm going wrong with my lack of female experiences, I'd trade all my geeky computer experiences anyday.
Its ain't INT/IST friendly as much as warcraft is, now that's a brain concussion if I didn't know any and I'd say that strategy is ISTJ/INTJ friendly. my Brother is obsessed with Dota allstars strategy version of WoW and he's...35. His gf hates it as do I so he drops by my place instead of playing it at his place.

Finished Braid yesterday, it's sublime!
It might be the most "NF" game I've ever played, even more so than Shadow of the Colossus.
I honestly cannot recommend it enough.

Team ICO (the guys behind Shadow of the Colossus) released a trailer for their new game "The Last Guardian" at E3 this week.
Looks pretty good IMO, it'll be interesting to see how it plays.

Finished Zelda: Phantom Hourglass the other day. Not bad, it had some inventive ways of using the touch screen, but I thought it was maybe a little bit too shallow overall, especially the storyline. If you liked The Wind Waker, you'll probably enjoy this though.

Nice list Stars, but no love for the Mario & Luigi or the Paper Mario games?

Paper Mario really isn't my type of RPG (I'm an RPG Traditionalist for the most part) and I do like the Mario Kart games alot, but new-school Mario other than that is very disappointing to me.

Did anyone watch the E3 conferences? What do you guys think of project Natal and Milo?
It's not enough that Nintendo make us prance around like nutters for the Wii, now Microsoft want us to talk to our consoles too?
The Milo thing looks cool and all, but it's practically a Molyneux trademark to hype his stuff up and then only deliver a fraction of what he promised, so I think I'm gonna reserve judgement on that one for now.

Finally got round to finishing Cave Story today. (Yay me!)
It's an excellent game, I really recommend it. It's like the old Metroid titles, but with much more of a story. (If you do want to try it, it's a freeware game so you can just download it from the net, you don't have to worry about copyright or anything).
I took a slight detour from my gaming list to play Super Princess Peach too. I was a little disappointed in the emotion system, I thought it would be a bit more inventive and you'd have to do things like shout into the mic to make her cry or get her angry or whatever, but it was just a case of tapping the icon with the stylus. Apart from that though, it was a fun little platformer. Good if you don't feel like playing anything too deep or complex.
With those done I think I'll check out some more independent/netware titles and concentrate on Odin Sphere as well. It might take a while to get through that though, seems to be one long ass game.

(apart from XII, which I haven't played so I can't comment on, and why no Final Fantasy VII?).
Oh, and if you haven't already play Secret of Mana. Now!
