I recently finished watching the original series and thought it was very good. The ads I've seen for the new series look interesting. I had no idea they were re-making it. I hope they do a decent job, I really like the original series (especially the last episode, which is insane) but the show was so much of its time it'll be...interesting...to see what direction they take it in. The last episode was insane. The whole series was pretty insane, but I think universal and timeless. I'm interested to see what they do with it too. Keeping fingers crossed it'll be good.

I'm behind on TV as such, but series-wise: Sopranos Carnivale - 1st series was great, disappointed with the 2nd Coupling - except for the last series where they tried to replace Geoff. Curb your enthusiasm - Larry David: Legend! The Office The wire Firefly - Top of the very big top of the list. Tim Minchin - Comedian/musician, not a 'TV show' but he had a regular thing on a friday night show here. His recent 'Ready for this' dvd is outstanding. About time for an update to this thread too I think. Flashforward lost momentum towards the end, but it was still interesting enough to keep my attention. Fringe was solidly entertaining, no more than that though. SG:Universe I thought was really good, looking forward to the next series. And since the last update I also watched Breaking Bad (season 2), which I thought was really good (though the season finale was perhaps a bit overblown). More recently I've been watching season 2 of Burn Notice (as entertaining as season 1), and season 4 of Heroes (only a couple of episodes into that, so too soon to say whether it's an improvement over the last couple of seasons). I've also been watching a new comedy quiz show called We Need Answers (which is great), the new series of Charlie Brooker's Newswipe (which so far has been really good, as always), QI (always good, though a bit tamer than it used to be now that it's aired before the 9pm water-shed), and a whole host of documentaries (particularly the latest series of Horizon, a series about the lost ancient kingdoms of Africa, and I've just started watching a series about the history of chemistry). i1n wrote: same same. I really really liked X-files And then I liked Little Britain, and all the nasty people in it Futurama is a must. And I sometimes like to watch some sci-fi shows like Stargate Atlantis.

I just got into Ergo Proxy (see my new avatar) and it's a futuristic dystopia that deals with the value of a person other than as a worker, and the difference between a conscious, emotional human and a robot. It's amazing.

Well, I finally saw the remake of The Prisoner a few weeks back, I thought it was...not so good. Not awful or anything, but if there was a second season, I wouldn't watch it. On a more positive note, I just finished watching The Ricky Gervais Show the other day. I'd heard the podcast version a while back and really enjoyed it, and I thought this animated version really added an extra layer to everything. It was the perfect medium. For those who aren't familiar with the unique world-view that is the province of Mr. Karl Pilkington, here's some clips (NSFW):

i've been on a cartoon kick lately too.
Adventure Time is great. My Little Pony:Friendship Is Magic is charming. the fanbase is kinda sketchy. Samurai Jack. holy cats, this is an amazing cartoon... the mood, the cinematography, the visual designs. i'm going to savor this slowly so i can enjoy it for a long time.
yeah i'm pretty behind on some stuff. i miss a lot of things not having cable and often not having a tv. people have to recommend things and i have to seek them out.

"Home Movies" is pretty great. Been watchin' 3rd and 4th season. I also bought the first episode of "Karas: The Prophecy" from a disc exchange place. I'd never heard of it but, the animation is pretty amazing.

Okay I know this is a few months after the fact but I want to say something. I LOVE My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. I credit NinjaNem of PersonalityCafe/Nation for getting me interested in this show through her promotion of it on PerN. I haven't been this excited about a kids cartoon since like 9 years ago which is about the time I stopped watching Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network (aside from Adult Swim). I can rattle off numerous reasons why I love this show: the characterization is excellent. Each of the 6 main characters is distinct, has numerous virtues and a few flaws that they help one another balance out. It's so sweet how they genuinely like and care about one another. The humor is sharp as a tack and able to be enjoyed by all ages. It's innocent but it still hints at the dark problems in the world that we all need to strive to overcome. It has a LOT of depth to it in all aspects. The morals taught are sound and not commonly expected in a kid's show (my favorite one is in "Feeling Pinkie Keen"). Also, it's a showcase of all the things I admire in females, which is the real reason it has such a huge, college-aged male fanbase. So yeah, I'm a proud brony and I hope to God season 2 is as good as season 1, with Lauren Faust's diminished roll in it and all. For those who are wondering, my favorite of the gang is Rarity with Fluttershy a close second. I want a girlfriend who has Rarity's personality and Fluttershy's interests. BTW DC, I typed Fluttershy as an ISFP but she's definitely somewhere in the IXFX category. I think Princess Luna is an INFP Type 4 though, even though we don't know too much about her. If you haven't seen this show yet, all the episodes are on Youtube. WATCH THEM!

I'm also a huuuuge brony... such an awesome show. I admittedly fell into a (healthy, I think!) obsession and now my entire MSN and Steam personas are centric around that show. c.c
Aside from that, I really enjoyed LOST, one of the best shows I've ever seen. A few other cartoons are pretty entertaining as well, think Flapjack and Regular Show. Aside from those things, I really don't watch much TV. o:
