Oh, goodness, no. Kicking is not about violence. Kicking isn't a means to an end. Although sometimes kicking can be violent and result in a desired end.

As we like to say at Kicking Meetings, "When you are kicking, kick. When you are not kicking, don't kick."

You misunderstand, my friend. Just listen to that crowd. Hear how happy they are?

That young man's simply kicking in the name of entertainment, why it's practically a form of public service, "kicking for the common good" if you will.

Ahhh. I see, although I disagree. Kicking to me is not about entertainment or pleasing the masses. Kicking can be for the common good if done properly, but that's a difficult balance to achieve. The pictures of Sciski and Pipster's kicking is a fine example. Now that's kicking!

Ultimately I suppose the meaning of kicking is different for different people. We each have to follow our own path to kicking. It's not so much the path you take, as the fact that you realize you are walking on a path.

*Kicks DC*

Kicking is all-inclusive, nobody gets left out, therefore... *kicks crystal*. :-D

Methinks there is an unwritten code for the laws of kicking...

This one's for you, DC :

Ah, ha. Dug up the original kicking thread on GC, as the question of the origin was brought up on a different thread. Must be preserved for the annals of history, because things like this are obviously important. Plus, it was some good kicking.

Good effort Bailiwick. Also reminds me that I never did get over that wine thing, I just buried it deep inside like the self-effacing 9 I so clearly am.

*kicks sciski again*

Hehehe, okay, fine, you've kicked the 9-sense into me! :-D

I'll just be a 9 with some righteous 1 fury and/or some dictatorial 8 rage.

Ahh. I have been enlightened, but methinks *kicking* is an art form or a talent.

For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction : *kicks furry tummy of kung-fu panda recruit, and enjoys the buoyant recoil* :bounce:

Kicking is for everyone, no skills required! It's a great leveller.

Actually, I pass Buckingham Palace every day on my way to work. Perhaps I should pop in and give the queen a friendly kick? She'd probably love it.

Truth is, I've never kicked anyone or anything in real life... except maybe in my mum's womb. Must re-discover the essence of kicking through a regressive episode.

ohmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Wouldn't HRH get a kick out of that! ;) According to this blog, she even jousts!

Ah, nostaligia in action.

Drops in and, with an awesome Bruce-Lee-esque spin and a mighty shout of "HAIIIII!", delivers a group kick to all readers.

Gives Bailiwick an extra, right in the buns.

There now.

(I've got my soft-soled mocassins on.) ;)

A recent kicking tale. ENFP daughter, whom Mom has never seen do anything unkind to a creature, sucker-kicked the farm dawg when Mom visited her at the apple orchard this summer. Left me open-mouthed.

"What's the deal, Sarah?"

"Oh, that dang dawg. Thinks I'm his girlfriend. I never let him get close."

What to say?

Sarah's out of the chef biz. Kitchen politics was making her inconsolable. She's now really going Earth Mother and managing an apple orchard. Working her little, unkicked buns off.
