Hello! Thought I'd join the site as this is where I seem to belong!
I think I'm something of a reformed infj, as a friend got me to take the test a while back, and the first time I did that I came out as INFJ (albeit 1% J !). However in most subsequent tests I've come out as INFP, and I think this more reflects me - although at first the differences weren't obvious to me!
Having found some very useful INFP advice that applies to improving myself (i.e not taking criticism too much to heart, and take in the information) I thought I would meet more people of this type, and see what I find! I've had a quick look around the site, and I can hear similar voices to the one in my head, so I think I might be in the right place...
Anyway once again hello!

Hello magical_steve! Would you have any magic spells that could multiply my hoard of cookies? I too, come out about 1% J or P especially on the Jung type test on the humanmetrics site, so it's hard to tell if I'm either one, but I've liked staying on this forum more than on another (INFJ forum). The INFJs were just a bit too J for my taste. LOL. And it seems that INFPs on this forum are more huggable (with some exceptions like ), so that's a plus.

Cookie magic? Oh that's easy! Just sprinkle a bit of dust over them and... erm... oooops... I think I may have poured too much... Erm, have you got enough space to hold a couple million cookies? Huggable is good! It's funny I've just been looking at the games people like on here and the jobs people have and I can relate a lot - I'm a Java/Web programmer who is a frustrated story writer/guitarist, who used to be (a very nervous) teacher/lecturer, who likes Adventure Games - oh and wants to save the world in a slightly vague, but awesome way :p

Hi magical_steve! Your background sounds very neat and pretty familiar... I like the adventure game part especially (just gotten back into them myself!). Is that a character in your avatar?

Is that a character in your avatar? No that's Magical Trevor (cos the tricks that he does are ever so clever ) he's from a web cartoon. Have you played any of the Telltale games ones - with the newer Sam & Max? And of course Monkey Island. Years ago I used to love Maniac Mansion and Day of the Tentacle! And there was also a free downloadable Doctor Who one last year which I thought was pretty cool. I found an Adventure game making tool a little while back and tried to make my own, but frankly only got as far as the opening scene!

Now if only my Swiss-cheese memory can pinpoint whose post it was that I read... Yes, your light-heartedness does make you sound a lot more INFp than INFj, IMHO.

I played the first Sam & Max, but I think my favourite has to be Grim Fandango... you've got to play it if you haven't yet! I loved the Monkey Island series and Maniac Mansion (though I played a fan remake). I originally got into adventure games by playing the Space Quest series using a text parser. I still remember my brother and I being stuck for days because we didn't know how to tell the character to 'take a breath'. We tried every derivation, including 'fill lungs with air', 'open mouth and take in air'... When we found out, we were so angry! And back then, King's Quest 6 was insanely huge because it required about 10 floppy disks during installation! How things have changed.. Was the Adventure game making tool AGS at bigbluecup.com? I like heading back there every so often to download and play a new game.

I didn't realise I was that good! crystaluniverse wrote: IRCC, there's another relatively new user who is also into IT and wants to save the world in an awesometastic way... Yes I'm definitely thinking I'm MUCH more at home here. I've just read three things here that I thought only I thought about! One was about Training the eyes to see without glasses, another about chanelling energy in the body through meditation, and the other is a crazy notion I had about us being part of the same mind but from different perspectives - although I'm not as sure about the last one any more! But anyway my thoughts are already here, spoken by someone else !

I never finished it for some reason, but I got up to the 3rd stage I think. Where they were on the boat I think. Poor Manny! Another game I started but never finished, but a friend of mine is obsessed about is Psychonauts, and I think it was written by the same guy - Tim Schafer. I never played Space Quest, though I did play some text adventure ones like The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy (I went through a slightly obsessive phase over Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy). Also Have you ever been on the Discworld MUD? That's pretty cool. sciski wrote: Was the Adventure game making tool AGS at bigbluecup.com? I saw a few decent ones there a while back, but have completely forgotten them!
