Is there an area on this forum that can be blocked to general web searching? On INTJforum there are several sections that cannot be viewed unless you are a member and have 15 posts to your credit - the member blogs is one of these. I ask because I am not as comfortable as I used to be sharing personal information in so accessible a venue. Hmm... I think a 'members only' section would cover most of my concerns.

I wish everyone the very best, and I am doing well.
Gin

As I understand it, nothing in the 'INFP Community' section is viewable to non- registered members except the 'Into the INFPverse' board, which itself is only 'viewable' to bots (for internet search engine hit purposes).

Hey there Gin. :) It's a good question and I realise I never specified which forums were private and which weren't. Thanks DC.

If you'd like the details, here they are. :)

Edit: Please note that the following details have now changed. See my later post.

Bots (internet search engines) cannot access the following forums, so will not be able to index the content. Content in these forums is safe from search engines:
The Showcase subforums
Blog threads
Meet-ups and chats
The great escape

The rest of the forums are visible to bots and therefore indexable.

Non-members can see that the following forums exist, but cannot view/read the content within them:
Into the INFPverse
The Showcase subforums (Art, Stories, etc)
Blog threads
Meet-ups and chat
The great escape

When you sign up as a member, you get immediate access to these forums. However, I'm willing to consider changing forum policy so that members have to have a minimum of 5-10 posts before they get access. Would people like this sort of change?

Alternatively, I could start a new INFP Private section where members must have a minimum of 15 posts (or maybe 20?) before they get access. Again, is there interest in this feature?

I'd be greatly interested in a Private section with at least a 15 post requirement. If this could be imposed upon the blog threads, perhaps incrementally if someone has started a blog without having fifteen posts yet, and all our private thoughts would be that much safer from overly casual observers.

Just another bit of info - I believe it's still in effect - INTJforum has a religion and mythology subforum that doesn't show AT ALL until a user has 80 posts. - - I think that would be too much for this though.

I'm happy to go with the greater security option - will leave the details to you sciski if it goes ahead.

New private forum added in the INFPverse community section.

The updated details for forum access follow:

Bots (internet search engines) cannot access the following forums, so will not be able to index the content. Content in these forums is safe from search engines:
INFP private forum
The Showcase subforums
Blog threads
Meet-ups and chats
The great escape

The rest of the forums are visible to bots and therefore indexable.

Non-members can see that the following forums exist, but cannot view/read the content within them:
Into the INFPverse
INFP private forum
The Showcase subforums (Art, Stories, etc)
Blog threads
Meet-ups and chat
The great escape

When you sign up as a member, you get immediate access to all forums, except the INFP private forum. New members will only be able to access this forum when they have made 15 posts.

New members that signed up before this change was implemented will be able to access the INFP private forum even if they haven't made 15 posts, so they're the lucky ones. :)

I move that the new private forum be re-christened 'The Hidey-Hole'. 0:)
