Several years back I saw a circular rainbow around the sun. It might also be called a halo or a sundog, but I think halos are just a light circle, not coloured.

What interesting things have you seen?

I lived in New Zealand for a short while and went on a coach through the bush somewhere (can't remember where). The coach actually went through the end of a rainbow. It was amazing. You'd expect a rainbow to disappear when you approch it's end but it didn't, there were rainbow colours outside every window of the coach. Beautiful.

One warm day I walked out into the backyard (nice view of eucalypt covered mountain range and bushy back garden) to hang a shirt on the line. A small flock of finches circled me for about two minutes before flying off.
Having dinner with my ex outdoors on one of those mountains I watched a group of Magpies taking turns flying up to a hanging stick, which they would grab in their beak and hang from for a few seconds before dropping and flying back to the 'queue" (Magpie bungie?) I have since seen this behaviour twice more.
Butterfly farm in Penang, many butterflies landed on me - I was perspiring fairly heavily and guess they were after the salts.

I've never seen magpies do that, though i have seen cockatoos and galahs doing somersaults on overhead wires. Looks like great fun. :)
