It's good to have a place where you can be totally yourself. Hurrah for INFPs and their accepting, non-judgmental ways!

Hmm, perhaps I might start an 'INFPs: Why we rock' thread...

So, here it is! INFPs, why do we rock? Please list any and all reasons below. Here are a couple to get us started:

1. Our accepting, non-judgmental ways and how these make other people feel comfortable, relaxed and validated.
2. We tend to be modest sorts (but please abandon your modesty at the door of this thread); being Fi-led, we prefer to let our deeds do the talking, not our verbal marketing thereof.
3. We tend to have a pretty good sense of humour. In the INFP type descriptions that abound, I have sometimes seen this described as "a surprisingly good sense of humour" and can only think that this line was penned by an extrovert who was too busy hogging the conversational oxygen to give us a chance to say something funny.
4. We are superb listeners.

I could go on but somebody else can have a go!

6. We're so awesome that half the posts in the "Hate an INFP? Tell us Why?" thread on TypeologyCentral are about how awesome INFPs are!

7. We are awesome because we are different!

8.We don't compete with others for the center of attention in a room and are quite content to just sit in a corner and ignore those extraverts who constantly need to be noticed by others. We can make it on our own. Of course, we do need others but not as much or frequently as an extravert.

9. We part of the few who don't put ourselves above everyone else and use them to elevate our status. We support others instead of using them to support ourselves.

10. We are kind when we have a problem with someone else instead storming in and looking for an argument.

11. (Related to #10) We avoid conflict and if the world was filled with INFP's it would be a much more peaceful place to live.

Wow I feel awkward posting this. I feel like I'm bragging. That is most certainly not something I am used to doing.

14. We're really adaptable and flexible when it comes to timetables and plans, it's rare for us to throw a fit if someone springs something onus at the last minute.

15. We're incredibly creative, not just in the traditional sense but also in the way we can make even the most mundane things in life into something special (and that goes for our own selves too).

I find it helps to think about other INFPs and the things that are awesome about them, instead of trying to think about the things that are awesome about myself. Which reminds me:

16. We're quick to give out praise and support, especially when we help other people feel better about themselves by picking out the wonderful things about them that they've overlooked.

17. INFPs have the power of PRESENCE!

"The Introverted Feeling Type

Although in the normal type, the tendency, above alluded to, to overpower or coerce the object once openly and visibly with the thing secretly felt, rarely plays a disturbing role, and never leads to a serious attempt in this direction, some trace of it, nonetheless, leaks through into the personal effect upon the object, in the form of a domineering influence often difficult to define. It is sensed as a sort of stifling or oppressive feeling which holds the immediate circle under a spell. It gives a woman of this type a certain mysterious power that may prove terribly fascinating to the extraverted man, for it touches his unconscious."

Rawr! ;)

12. I guess I am not really an INFP, which is good for the whole INFPverse, I think.

Nearly incapable of playing games with other people.

Pretty effective at repelling interpersonal drama or gossip.

Creative problem-solvers and paradigm-shifters when happy, and if given adequate space.

Strives to see the best in others.

Hah! So true

We rarely lie because we don't need to impress others, or control them. Plus, our values usually prevent us from lying even if we'd like to. Thus we're quite trustworthy

INFPs have evaporating skills, just like the Cheshire Cat...

Spoiler:
INFPs have the power of invisibility - receding into the background until all you are left with is a smile... :-D
